April 18, 2011 – BOSTON–In Kenmore Square at mile 25 of the Boston Marathon, Darcy Fuehrer (center, pink) of San Antonio, Texas fights the urge to walk during the last mile of the race. April 18, 2011 – BOSTON–In Kenmore Square beginning the 25th mile of the 26.2 mile-long Boston Marathon, Darcy Fuehrer (center, pink) resists walking. At mile ten Fuehrer, a 30 year-old pharmacist from San Antonio, Texas, felt her pace abate. “When you stop running, you can’t believe you were ever running before–it’s like if someone held a gun to my head and said to run a mile, I don’t think I could do it,” said Fuehrer about the feeling in her body after the race.
